Sept./Oct. Update!

October Meeting Recap!

We had a lovely and short meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 2. We mostly covered these upcoming events.

Saturday, October 20: NCIB has been invited to the October NipFest VW Car Show at the Downtown Perry Square. NCIB members are meeting at the Dawg House around noon and will ride to the square. The show hosts will have special parking available for NCIB members. They would like NCIB members to volunteer to judge the show. The estimated length of the event is from 9 am to 3 pm with NCIB participating from noon to 3 pm.

Thursday, October 25: NCIB members will be meeting at the DAWG House around 4:00 pm to go out as a group to help Campfire move their Halloween Carnival items from storage to the Armory in Perry. It appears that we will have enough trailers and vehicles to do the moving, but the more bodies to assist the better!   The Campfire Halloween Carnival, for those who wish to attend, will be held on Saturday, October 27 at the Armory in Perry.

Wednesday, October 31: Halloween on the Square is Wednesday, Oct. 31. NCIB is planning on setting up an area on the square to give out Halloween candy during Trick or Treat on the Square. The exact area is still being determined. The plan is to get to the square around 4:30 pm to set up and the event will take place from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. *We are accepting candy and monetary donations for candy until Thursday, October 25. All candy and monetary donations are being collected by Tammy Street who will make a Sam’s Club run on Friday, October 26 to purchase candy with the monetary donations. Tammy will also bring all candy donations to the square. If you would like to donate candy after Thursday, October 25 we will gladly accept. Please feel free to bring it to the event!! If you would like to make a candy or monetary donation prior to Thursday, October 25 please contact Tammy to set up how best to do that!

Looking ahead! Our FOP Poker run will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3. We are going to start at the Perry Police Department with registration from 11 am to noon. Then we are going to ride to Yale for lunch at Mugsy’s Grubhouse.

Below are both our upcoming events as well as some area upcoming events that were shared on our Facebook! Happy Riding! 2018FOPFLYER

April/May/June Meeting Recap

So, you might have wondered if I started slacking off again and the answer is both yes and no. To be honest, we haven’t really discussed anything new! But, I will tell you what we have discussed below as well as share some upcoming event information. 🙂

Meeting Recap for April/May/June:

Things to remember about meeting recaps!

-Votes still take place in person at the meetings.

-If you would like to make a suggestion, discuss a motion or event or have something brought to the attention of the group, please feel free to post here. If you would like to remain anonymous, please email your inquiries to kotikeith@yahoo.com or private message me and I will post them here anonymously.

Old Business April/May/June:

-We still have 2017 NCIB T-Shirts for sale. All sizes are $10 per shirt. As soon as we clear them out, we can make way for 2018 designs….or really 2019 designs at this point. Haha!

New Business April:

-The Treasury Report in April stated that our current balance was sitting at $1,443.10.

-The four tablets discussed in March were purchased for the Noble County Public Schools (Perry, Billings, Red Rock and Morrison). They were distributed to each school and will be given away at the poker run on August 18 if the school chooses to do so at the event. Each school received a Kindle.

-Our bike night (all vehicles welcome) will be held June 16, 2018 and details were discussed at the April meeting. I have posted the flyer on Facebook, so please share as the event is just around the corner.

-The Todd Hatchett Benefit Poker Run hosted by the Eagle Riders was held on April 28 and went through Perry during the Springfest festivities. We appreciate the members who participated in that event. We did not have a booth at Springfest this year.

-Howdy thanked everyone for their support during his recent back surgery!

-Member Sandi Conner’s daughter, Shalyn, was involved in a car accident and we appreciate NCIB members who assisted and participated in the fundraisers that aided the family during Shalyn’s recovery.

-NCIB agreed to pay Gordon Meadows $120 for the customized poker run signs that he made for our poker runs stops.

New Business May:

-The Treasury Report in May stated that our current balance was sitting at $1,169.76.

-The membership looked over donated wooden guns that Gordon Meadows made for event giveaways.

-We are currently working on and wrapping up getting door prizes for bike night on June 16. If you know of anyone or any business who might like to donate a door prize, please let us know!

-The last week in June, NCIB will be mowing CCC lake for Camp Tandako. We would appreciate any volunteer efforts and will need assistance from individuals who have and do not mind NCIB using mowing equipment such as lawn mowers, push mowers and weed eaters.

New Business June:

-Your historian/updater is playing co-ed softball on Tuesday nights with her co-workers. I will not be able to attend the June, July and August meetings. So, I got a basic re-cap from our President. Most of what was discussed in June was preparation for our June 16 Bike Night at Ace’s High Bar. There is a sign up sheet on Facebook for the potluck and we really need everyone to participate! Please sign up on the Noble County Independent Bikers Facebook page with your dish. We are also still working on gathering door prizes, so again if you know of any individual or business who would like to donate a door prize for our bike night, please let us know!

Thank you all for your never ending patience with my super busy schedule! Hope to see you all next weekend! Until then check out some of the upcoming motorcycle events that were shared to our Facebook page, below.  🙂

March Meeting Recap!

Woo Hoo!! Oh, did March get away from me!?! Well, this is better late than never…
Meeting recap from March 6, 2018

Things to remember about meeting recaps!
-Votes still take place in person at the meetings.
-If you would like to make a suggestion, discuss a motion or event or have something brought to the attention of the group, please feel free to post here. If you would like to remain anonymous, please email your inquiries to kotikeith@yahoo.com or private message me and I will post them here anonymously.

Old Business:
-We still have 2017 NCIB T-shirts for sale. All sizes are $10 per shirt. As soon as we clear them out, we can make way for new 2018 designs!

New Business:
-The treasury report stated that our current balance was sitting at $1,795.01.
-The group discussed the Noble County Public Schools Poker Run to be held Saturday, August 18, 2018. During an officer meeting held Feb. 20 the officers had discussed coming up with a fundraiser that could benefit each school and potentially gain them more money for the year. They brought their discussion to the attention of the group. It was discussed and approved by the membership to spend around $100 per each county school (Perry, Morrison, Billings, Red Rock) to purchase 4 tablets that the schools could sell raffle tickets for throughout the year. We were going to suggest the schools sell raffle tickets for $1 per 1 ticket or $6 per 5 tickets but ultimately would leave it up to each public school system in each area to determine how they would like to raffle the tablets. The idea is that the schools can begin selling raffle tickets as soon as they receive their tablet and will not announce the winner of the tablets until the poker run date. The membership also decided that the money raised at the poker run would be distributed to the schools, potentially via a gift card, so the schools could decide the exact items they need that would benefit their classrooms versus us using the money and shopping to determine those needs. Now we are looking for individuals interested in working on the school poker run committee to aid us in making this event more successful than it’s ever been (and I feel we have done pretty darn good these past 2 years 😉). If you are interested, please let us know! We appreciate the new ideas, the help and will put in as much work as you will!

Next meeting is Tuesday, April 3, 6:30 pm @ The Dawg House. See everyone there who can make it!

January Meeting Recap, Prep for Feb!

Everywhere you look there is a meeting recap! I want everyone to have one…but I will be super brief here since this may well be the 3rd time you have seen this! Sorry not sorry!

As part of my 2018 Historian Plan, I want to post meeting recaps for individuals and members who are not able to attend the meetings but would still like to know what’s going on and participate in NCIB events.

-NCIB T-Shirts (have I told you all they make great gifts 🙂 ) are available for $10 per shirt. Check out Noble County Independent Bikers Facebook page to find the past post that contains sizes. We will not work on designing 2018 shirts until 2017 shirts are gone!

-Make way for fellowship! We have determined that last year was a bit exhaustive, so we have opted to focus on a little more fellowship and a little less on event planning. We want the group to get together and do more fun stuff and just enjoy riding. We are still planning to do our annual events: Springfest, 16th Celebration, Halloween, Christmas Parade, FOP Poker Run and the Noble County Public School Poker Run. We are potentially still planning on doing the First Responder Dinner later in the year.

-We are still planning on helping Camp Tandako with their summer mowing and Fall/Halloween carnival.

-We made a motion to have 1 Wheels Night this year in conjunction with a Pool and Dart Tournament at Ace’s High Bar (306 N. 6th Street, Perry, OK) on Saturday, June 16. The motion passed.

-There was a discussion to attend a Blessing of the Bikes or host a Blessing of the Bikes in the near future. More details to come.

-There was a motion made to move meetings from the 3rd Monday of the month to the 1st Tuesday of the month. This motion passed, so I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 6:00 p.m. (if you would like to engage in potluck activities) or 7:00 p.m. for the meeting at the DAWG House (1218 1/2 Rainbow Drive, Perry, OK).

Upcoming Event:

It looks like President Steve Bay will be attending the Polar Bear Run this Saturday, Jan. 27. If you would like to accompany him, he is leaving the DAWG House at 9:45 a.m.

See you all in February! Love will most certainly be in the air and as always RIDE and Be Safe! PolarBearRun

What a Christmas Party it was!

Hi everyone! It is your favorite NCIB officer….haha, j/k, but for real. 😉 The NCIB Christmas Party was this past Saturday at the DAWG House and the new officers were voted in. For those of you who were unable to attend, or just like to follow our news and events from different areas of the interweb, I will reveal the new 2018 officers below.

But first, lets take a moment to thank our 2017 officers for the terrific job that they did for us this past year. I recently did an interview with BorntoRoamBikers.com for their newsletter, so I calculated our Poker Run earnings. These officers assisted in helping this membership plan events to raise a rough estimate of more than $5,500. This does not include money raised through different fundraising events and activities, wheels nights or bug runs. I should get a more accurate number on the total money raised this year during our transitional officer meeting after the first of the year, which I am sure the new Treasurer will be more than happy to share. So, thank you outgoing 2017 officers! We appreciate you!
